- FAQ
Can my puppy attend group adventures?
Puppies are taken on a trial basis beginning at 6 months. They must have completed their full round of vaccinations.
Where do you the group play adventures take place?
Our favorite places to play include Spanish Banks dog beach, Hadden Beach dog park and Fraser River dog park. We may visit other area parks depending on weather, traffic and road conditions.
How do you keep my house keys safe?
We offer a lockbox that you can add to any exterior door, fence, gate, or pipe. This allows you to have total control of your keys and we will only access them during your service appointment. If you cannot use an onsite lockbox, we will store your keys without any identifying information.
We will come within a guaranteed time range of 1 hour but we usually show up around the same time each day since our groups are very consistent. Depending on pack size, dispersion, weather and traffic your dog may spend more or less time in transit. They will always get the full 60 minutes of play time.
Will my dog be off-leash?
With an owner's permission, dogs with strong recall will be able to earn off leash privileges .First, they must complete a minimum of at least two walks to build a positive relationship with their walker. Then, they must demonstrate reliable recall on a long line. We also accept dogs that must remain on-leash, and reserve the right to keep dogs on-leash at any time for safety reasons.
What do you mean by force-free handling methods?
Force-free handling means we never use pain, intimidation, threats, force, or coercion. We use only positive reinforcement. By generously and consistently rewarding positive behaviors with food, praise, touch, and play dogs learn what is expected of them without experiencing physical or psychological harm. When the dog engages in a behavior we don't want to see again, we redirect the dog to an appropriate behavior or remove their access to rewards. This is currently the most up to date scientific approach to dog training. Read more here.
Will you provide any reports/updates on my dog?
Yes! After your dog's walk, we'll always send you a report card with picture and notes. The report verifies your dog was walked that day, provides a summary of their experience and any notes we may have.
What is the minimum attendance policy?
We've found that a minimum of twice a week works best for pack cohesion and consistency. Dogs thrive on routine and knowing what to expect. If you select the same days each week, your spot is always guaranteed.
In the event of an emergency, what is your plan?
All of our dog walkers are trained on how to prevent and react to emergency situations. When you sign up, we will collect the medical history of the dog, emergency contact info and your preferred veterinarian. We carry cell phones and pet first aid kits to ensure we are prepared. In the event of an emergency, we will take the dog to the closest available veterinarian as outlined in the veterinary release form.
Are you trained in pet first aid or CPR?
Yes, both.
